Which one you prefer?
Killing Joke, though I don't know if KJ ever did a song as good as Final Solution

Modern Dancr because i'm a pleb who hasn't heard Killing Joke yet
>>74228836
Mingus, easily
>>74228691
The Modern Dance. KJ's s/t is too one dimensional for post-punk, and all my favorite post-punk type records are ones where each track kinda does its own thing (Y, The Modern Dance, This Heat, etc.) Not to mention like most post-punk, KJ doesn't have the amazing composition/songwriting on it to take one style all the way through an album.

There's only one album here but I'll say I prefer nothing at all because holy shit this album's boring.
>>74228836
Neither, they are literally on the same level.
>>74228836
There is NO ONE in this world that would unironically choose Kawasi over Mingus. This isn't even a question.

I've seen more Killing Joke in the last three days on /mu/ than I've seen in the entire I've been here.
What's going on?
KJ s/t because I'm not a giant Nu Male cock smoker like this guy>>74229172

New album announcement soon. This is some sort of advertising campaign.
>>74229422
Not falling for that garbage, sorry. We'll pan your new album with 2.5s. Not 5/5s, nor 1/5s, those give too much attention.

I really like Killing Joke, and Jaz Coleman is a fascinating artist. I'm not the OP, but I did make a couple threads recently, so I guess I played a small part. Coleman has really interesting ideas, and it's amazing how KJ's influence can be seen in everything from Ministry and Amebix to Behemoth and Celtic Frost. I wouldn't be surprised if Wovenhand wound up citing him as an influence. I'm huge on their early post-punk material and their more recent industrial metal, but truth be told I'm not huge on their new wave stuff.

I find it hard to believe that any marketing team would bother advertising through 4chan posts. That's fucking stupid.
>>74228691
Both fucking horrific. But Killing is less horrific
>>74228836
....
>>74229172
Hate both and any Vaporwave. But Far Side Virtual is better
Thread not looking good so far.
>>74229610
> misusing "horrific"
> not knowing Mingus
Your existence is depressing.
>>74229626
I know Mingus and have heard Epic and Black Saint.
I'm just confused why anybody would compare both.
>>74229663
They're not really being shown as similar, it's just a "what album is better" thread.

"The Modern Dance"
>>74229663
>Two jazz albums both very repetitive and limited in terms of improvisation
>Two jazz albums that water down the more subtle complexities of jazz drumming for easily digestible grooves
>Two jazz albums with impressive arrangement sizes that do relatively little with said arrangements
>Two jazz albums mixed in a way where the rhythm section is emphasized cuz muh groove at the cost of obscuring some of the more subtle things happening in their arrangements
>Two jazz albums made by people too fucking retarded to realize that there can be still be grooves without having to play watered down jazz
A lot closer in many ways than you might think.
