When you're not listening to music to drown out the world or to make a mundane task easier to accomplish, what do you do?

Sometimes I practice new variations of my personal signature while listening to The Renderers; other times I read through my old college essays with some Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Right now, I'm listening to The Nihilist Spasm Band, as I post this.

I've tried many times to listen to music just by itself, but my tendencies eventually force me to do something else. Is this something wrong with this?
