>make an EP
>shill it on /mu/ for like a month
>a few people like it but mostly everyone thinks it's shit
>somehow get asked to do a live show
>back out
>try to cut a second EP
>post a single on /mu/ that a friend made for it
>"wtf this is even worse than your old stuff, at least that was a hit or miss usually"
>band breaks up

I've been told by friends who've been exposed to this that it's definitely outsider music, what do you think?

granted i like things like smegma, volcano the bear, sun city girls etc

but i also love classical, pop, hip hop, whatever as long as its good

i like your music. but i dont think that outside of weirdo circles you'll ever get anywhere

Re-release it in year or so with a web page telling the crazy back story of the artist.

There's quite a few instances of outsider art being sold mainly on the basis of the back story (real or not) of the artist.

Hell, look at Ghost Bath, their initial buzz sprung from the story they were a Chinese DSBM band, probably wouldn't be nearly as successful if everyone knee from the start it was just a loner kid in Minot ND

Its not like other artists universally considered outsider like Hasil Atkins weren't trying for commercial acceptance (and Chocolate Rain wasnt even really trying was he? Idk)
