electrical engineering basically, especially analogue audio
>>
I'm seriously considering buying a verbos composition system some time in the future, but the supposedly shitty qc has me worried. I've had the CO for several months and it's never given me any problems though.

used to have this small setup but I sold it
just something to process audio with granular synthesis (clouds)

I sold it though because even this small lunchbox cost me about $1k monies and it's not worth it and I can do the same shit with plugins.

I do want to build a proper eurorack synth, but it's so goddamn expensive.
>>
>>74208969
Oh man I want to one, its just super expensive.

Anyone have any experience making their own modules? I might consider building some of the simpler ones.

Doesn't Sputnik have similar Buchla-style stuff? although I'm not sure if their shit is available anymore...
>>
>>74209443
I think the sputnik stuff is actually closer to buchla in sound and functionality. They have stuff like the quad AD/ASR envelope vs the verbos multi envelope.
>>
You can always do more interesting shit in Max/MSP or whatever. I don't really see the point in having a hardware modular.

I'm building an MU format synth
>>
>>74209800
it's more accessible (not financially).
I agree though.

max and pure data have extremely steep learning curves.
>>
>>74210180
Cool to see some synthesizers.com stuff.
I thought about building something in that format, but the options are limited compared to eurorack, I do like the bigger cables and knobs though.

How are you enjoying it so far?
>>
>>74209800
it's fun
>>
>>74209039
step one, spend money.
step two, plug shit in.
>>
>>74209800
also don't forget Reaktor, especially since they introduced Blocks with Reaktor 6
>>
>>74209800
I wasn't to fond of the sound when I played with max, but I had only used it like 4-5 hours.
>>
>>74208969
Euroracks are the Jazzmasters of the Synth World.
>>
>>74210227
It's great, I made the 16U case myself, once its full I'm moving over to Eurorack.

.com seemed more enticing to me at the time but I'm not going to give up halfway through.
>>
>>74210227
>>74210807
you can always run your 5u and eurorack synths into each other.
>>
This seems like a pointless money pit pseudomusicians.
>>
>>74210877
Yeah I know, just need some 1/4" to 1/8" patch cables

not even that. i suck at the electrical part of this. I just make sounds.

>>74210883
i sold off my VAs and went strictly eurorack [minud two drum machines in this shot] and it is awesome. i don't play it live because its a hassle to set up, but its great for weird studio use.
>>
>>74210967
weird. no idea why it uploaded upside down. whatever, you get the point.
>>
>>74210967
Imagine all the productive things you could have spent that money on. What a waste.
>>
>>74210967
Sick verbos stuff, I want some so bad
make noise is always quality too, I see quite a few of their modules in your setup

highly recommend looking into Mutable Instrument's stuff, although I'm sure you have at this point lol.

>>74211078
stop liking what I don't like, etc...
>>
>>74210967
It's weird, isn't it, once you get addicted you just want to make more new sounds. It's not even about music, just sound.

It's just a bonus if you happen to make nice music with all the sounds.
>>
>>74210200
>max and pure data have extremely steep learning curves.
I dunno, I think they kind of don't, considering you can do pretty much anything you can imagine with them.

>>74210750
These things don't really have a "sound". It sounds the way you make it sound. Blanket statements like that aren't really useful.
>>
>>74211078
i guess. https://glitchmoderecordings.bandcamp.com/album/worst-case-scenario-vol-1-2 worked fine for releases so far.

>>74211158
verbos is ridiculous. my friends band's singer is brothers with mark verbos...learned a lot from them!

>>74211277
i use it for my band. see link above.
