Different anon chiming in to say this isn't the worst album in the world but it's pretty forgettable and entirely overshilled here on /mu/.

i think this cover art is tight but agreed, i was very underwhelmed when i finally listened to it

their first album was interesting, this just left me indifferent

Felt the same when I first listened to it. The vocalist's voice felt off-putting, too. But it grows on you.

I'm worried about the new shit. I could deal with the music being more scaled-back like in Arc, but the lyrics seem a bit lackluster compared to Get to Heaven. I mean, the two released songs are still 8/10 pretty good

Actually the lyrics are like half of my enjoyment of that album. I mean, the lyrics aren't exactly intellectual or "poignant", but they're pretty emotional and visceral.

First album's their best. Real down to earth. I hated it too but it really grew on me. It's got a "college rock" honesty to it that their later work polished off. And some of the songs are so emotionally devastating (Final Form, NASA).

Get To Heaven is a perfect pop album but doesn't work in the same personal way Man Alive does.

The three songs they've released since GTH aren't the best. Can't Do is a less interesting Distant Past. I Believe It Now is just boring. A Fever Dream is probably their best new one but is a little slow and repetitive.

Worried the new album is going to be an undercooked Brexit-themed redo of Get To Heaven.
