on what basis? It's completely subjective. What's not subjective though is how unoriginal and uninspired kpop music really is. It's a literal fact. You have companies pumping out these groups as products with the ethical protections of your standard asian sweatshop. You have groups with 13 year contracts with almost no profit reaching the dancers. There are teams of managers and trainers. Its rare to find a group that even writes their own songs, much less sing them live. Do you really think they are going to be able to sing anything while they are doing dance choreography? So we have morally grey, probably dont write their own songs, giant production to mask the lack of true talent. Then we have song creativity. Pop can be creative. Plenty of people have taken 4 chords and done something amazing with them, incorporating them into the music of their own culture or just with other music they enjoy. Then you have kpop shit that is the same tempo beat over the same 4 chords over the same lyrics by cookie cutter girls. It takes 0 influence from korean or eastern music and creates a completely empty copy of western music and dresses it up like a team of sluts. At least western pop has roots in western music. What you have here is a sad sell out for sad people.
