They've been getting more and more heavy handed with their messages. They don't even try to be poetic like their first three albums. Its really bad considering the musics now like really dull Low-era Bowie. Perfume fucking genius of all people did better

I honestly think that years from now, Reflektor will be seen as their magnum opus, the way we talk about U2 and Achtung Baby. I fucking hated it when it came out, and now it's just about the only Arcade Fire album that I ever listen to to. The back half, especially, is utterly flawless and has only gotten better with time. Like Achtung Baby, it's probably also the last truly, unquestionably great album that they'll ever record.

Neon Bible is my /comfy/ Arcade Fire album, though. It's not the stellar, flawless debut album that Funeral was, and it doesn't have anywhere near the ambition of The Suburbs or Reflektor. It's just a /comfy/ time machine back to 2007, like a better version of listening to The Bravery.
