No. It's a sad thing and he probably deserved more respect but don't be ridiculous.
As a former journalist, I always regret not being able to get a straight answer from him as to why his band deliberatelly took a turn for the worst by beginning to produce mellow albums, one after the other.
You'd think most bands would realize that the abrupt decline of interest in their latest work is not due to the change of times but rather their unwilligness to follow the formula which cemented their legacy.

I thought they were just going in a more mature direction, their first two albums were angst fueled and edgy, but It seems like they just wanted to try out a more mature sound with later albums
