What are /mu/'s essential industrial albums?
Not strictly "pure" industrial, similar sounding artists/genres allowed.
I'll post some I think are pretty essential. You can yell at me if you disagree.
1st Wave
Throbbing Gristle - 20 Jazz Funk Greats
SPK - Leichenscrei
Check out Z'ev and Monte Cazzazza
2nd Wave
Coil - Horse Rotorvator
Psychic TV - Dreams Less Sweet
CTI/Chris & Cosey - European Rendezvous
Sleep Chamber - Spellbound Submission
Foetus - Hole
Einsturzende Neubaten - Halber Mensch
Cabaret Voltaire - Drinking Gasoline
Severed Heads - Since the Accident
EBM/Electro Industrial:
The Klinik - Melting Close + Sabotage
Front 242 - Front by Front
Frontline Assembly - Tactical Neural Implant
Nitzer Ebb - That Total Age
Ministry - Twitch
Skinny Puppy - Bites
Industrial Rock:
Godflesh - Slavestate EP
Fear Factory - Fear of a New Machine
NIN - The Downward Spiral
Post Industrial:

Somebody's got to say it, Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar is a great industrial album even if it hardly fits the definition.

Interesting picks for the Ministry and Godflesh albums. I'd change out Twitch for Rape and Honey and the Fear Factory album for The Mind. Slavestate is under-rated, but I think the obvious Godflesh album is better for a entry-level/essentials list (mainly a metalfag, so those bands are really the only ones I have any "authority" to comment on).
Front Line Assembly
Haujobb
Mentallo & The Fixer (recently found em on discogs)
Skinny Puppy & their side projects
Severed Heads
My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult
RevCo

Yes, glad this has been getting posted on /mu/ recently. One of my favorite industrial albums by far
Any early material by Swans
>>74177893
It is tho..
Strapping Young Lad - City
If I liked Pretty Hate Machine by Nine Inch Nails, where should I go next (assuming I've already got all the halo numbered releases from Nine Inch Nails.

just go chronologically, Broken, TDS, and the Fragile are his best
you can ignore the singles and remix albums unless you're desperate for more
>>74180790
Just go chronologically, and if The Downward Spiral is too hard for you goto The Fragile first.
>>74180939
Remixes are the best part man
>>74179640
This definitely

What are industrial shows like? I want to go to one, but I live in bumfuck nowhere and have no idea where to look. If I ever go to one I want to be prepared.

Skinny Puppy are amazing live. Big schlocky horror performance art. Check Ain't It Dead Yet
https://youtu.be/wo8WARq2t-Y
Coil were good live. If you could handle all the gay occult shit. Where's that video? Somebody knows which one I'm talking about...
Some industrial shows are very austere. A guy with some gear and a singer. It's not a genre where many people get rich.

No Skinny Puppy? VIVIsectVI is awesome, especially with a steak.
The early Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire albums are essential
