my buddy saw them a couple years back when they came to SoCal. They played a small bar, so he was able to grab a drink and chill with them for a bit. Apparently, they're very cool.

one thing great about these new tracks is how good the synth stuff is. iirc alec played all that stuff on the first record and now they actually have a dedicated band member for that

personally, i'm usually pretty critical and cynical of recycled monotonous indie-sound, but about most of the time alvvays is pretty good with melody, instrumentation, and molly's beautiful voice. i say most of the time for a reason, it's why i wouldn't rate their s/t no higher than a 7 despite having some godly tracks. so far though, these singles are fire, this one especially being fucking great
