AC/DC are one of the greatest heavy-metal bands of all times, and one of the most authentic acts of rock'n'roll. They embody the wild, rebellious quintessence of rock music like few other bands before punk-rock. They were the opposite of the intellectual singer-songwriter or the brainy progressive-rock or the decadent glam-rock of the 1970s: they were not the brain and not the heart but the guts of rock and roll. Rolling Stone Magazine gave a "zero" to several of their albums: the greatest compliment ever paid to them.

Angus young is a god on the guitar, and theres a ton of their songs Id go and turn up to full volume and blast on my stereo when they come on. For what they try to do, which is dirty, hard rock, they succeed at flawlessly
Defined generic hard rock better than anyone, that's for sure.

Except he's right.
Bon Scott AC/DC is really good
Brian Johnson AC/DC is generic and overplayed dadrock

Bon and Brian sound pretty different but the approach to making music didn't really change, what actually happened is they made so damn much that a lot of it can't help but be hopelessly generic. Still fun, just not as much fun.
Axl Rose singing with them is a fucking joke though

I don't seek them out to listen to them.
But I enjoy it when the hits get played.

Yeah Angus Young didn't change anything up after the singer change, but Bon Scott's voice is just so much better it really improves the music for me. I guess I've just gotten sick of hearing Brian's voice because they play his era of AC/DC way more on the radio. You're hard pressed to hear anything but TNT or Highway to Hell from Bon

So basically theyre for dumb people.
