Is there anything wrong with spotify?
I'm currently listening to a french cold-wave playlist right now.

What's so bad about Spotify
>>74140196
bad way to discover music - encourages Redditlike hive mind of music taste (the average Radiohead fan will know nothing of the experiments they ripped off from decades prior for instance)
supporting big corporations
streaming music is inherently toxic to subcultures and local DIY scenes
basically outing yourself as a normie who does not care about sound quality
>>74140228
yes but not everyone is an autistic audiophile and just likes to enjoy random music on occasion you see
>>74140165

Yes, 4chan's /mu/ is the definitive place to discover music.
>supporting big corporations
yes, I'd never buy a record from a major label, or one of the many smaller sub-labels they own.
>DIY scenes
Don't most DIY scenes use soundcloud and Bandcamp? Pretty sure that's 90% streaming.
>outing yourself as a normie.
Oh, I get it, you never leave the house.

I'm pretty into underground music...Mac Demarco, Kendrick, Tyler, the Strokes, the list goes on!

>she doesnt own a dac and amp
>>74140317
I'm kind of into underground music too. Animal Collective, My Bloody Valentine, Xiu Xiu, Lil yachty.
We should totally meet up and neck.
>>74140369
heh, no kiddin. im into some pretty wacky stuff myself... foetus, glenn branca, flying saucer attack, ground-zero, the list goes on!
>>74140165
i'll take the bait
it's easy to find out who the pseudo-patricians (plebians) are by statements like this. spotify is good for listening to non-obscure albums away from your computer, what's wrong with that? nothing, but you like to act like you have good tastes in obscure music or something by not using it. honestly, you're below the level of "women who uses spotify"
>>74140228
>bad way to discover music - encourages Redditlike hive mind of music taste (the average Radiohead fan will know nothing of the experiments they ripped off from decades prior for instance)
i mean i guess people that use spotify to discover music are pretty pleb but most people don't use it for that purpose
>supporting big corporations
okay this is a valid point but my life would be a lot harder if I avoided big corporations so i don't really care
>streaming music is inherently toxic to subcultures and local DIY scenes
see above
>basically outing yourself as a normie who does not care about sound quality
nice fedora retard

I might look basic but my music taste isn't. Graham Lambkin, Julius Eastman, Rhys Chatham... I could go on all day!
>>74140228
I think streaming music is destroying my love for it. It's like porn for your ears. When you fap multiple times a day it stops being enjoyable and becomes a dull and mechanical stimulation. Streaming is similar to that, in that you have an infinite number of options so everything seems inconsequential and temporal, because rather than enjoying what you have in front of you and fully appreciating it, it's more of a numbers game of listening to as much decent quality of music as possible.

lawl, some might call me a normie and talk shit about me but I enjoy blasting America Is Dreaming of Universal String Theory by the Azusa Plane through my speakers in the car. Haters gonna hate.

And that's just one reason.

>infinite amount of options on Spotify
If only that part was true, maybe it would be worth using.
