That ONE band. The one that you hold closest than any other band. The one that helped you through rough times and that you wouldn't be the same without. YOUR band.

I don't know where I'd be without Burial. Music for loners, through and through. No other electronic music seems to be executed as competently imo. If I listen to an electronic music album nowadays, it's either far too polished, or far too /bleepy/ and hard-edged, technical. Who knew that music with vocal samples about angels ripped from youtube would be that good, but there you go.
definitely sonic youth and specifically bad moon rising, their debut, confusion is sex, evol, and daydream nation. too bad thurston is a faggot and they all sold out pretty hard after daydream nation

Once you have the 4AM listening session of Untrue you never go back.

only band that still hits me now as hard as it did 12 or 13 years ago. my tastes have changed a lot but Starkweather has always been at the top when I consider favorite artists. the fact that they're so painfully underrated kind of solidifies the "my band" feeling as well. only ever run into like two people irl who knew them.

I wasn't a big fan of his collaboration with Rostam. Walkmen is definitely one of the best bands of the 2000's tho.
