After they reconnected, Lennon severely emotionally abused his son on several occasions, berating and screaming at him until the boy was reduced to tears. Once, Julian giggled and Lennon shouted back, “I hate the way you fucking laugh!” Julian was not yet a teenager at the time. In perhaps the saddest statement ever made about Lennon, Julian later stated that Paul McCartney was more of a father to him than his real father was.

This is just straight up bollocks man. John was a pretty shit dad quite early in Julian's life. But by the early 70s they'd bridged the gap and John felt terrible or how he'd treated him. Bought him a fucking Gibson Les Paul and a drum machine one Christmas and gave him music lessons. Through the 70s they stayed in touch and Julian ended up getting on really well with both Sean and Yoko. I think Julian and Sean have made music together actually? The stuff about Paul is true though. They're still good friends I think but they had a little falling out a few years agao 'cause Paul didn't invite Julian to his wedding. But yeah, John wasn't a saint but he's nowhere near as bad as people make out.
