Despite being practically a warzone and having a population of about 1 and a quarter million Northern Ireland's got:
>Stiff Little Fingers
>The Undertones
>Them
>Van Morrison
>Ash
>The Divine Comedy
>Therapy?
The Republic's got about 5 million and all they've got is:
>Thin Lizzy (made up to a large extent by non-Irishmen)
>My Bloody Valentine (who only got good when they moved to England)
>Rory Gallagher
>not a whole lot else
Sorry lads, it's true
i'm from belfast, its mostly shit here desu

So you're saying the north has better music because they have more of the music you like? what about the Trad groups?
Or do they not count for some reason?
Also, what about Damien Rice?

U2, for all people meme about them, has some quite decent albums - War, The Unforgettable Fire and The Joshua Tree are really solid albums. Achtung Baby and Zooropa are really interesting, especially for a band their size, even if they're not for everyone.
But yeah, Northern Ireland > Republic of Ireland.

I actually forgot U2 somehow, but agree
