Honestly, I feel like people only shit on TKOL because it was such a short album so the bad songs were able to stand out more. IMO tracks 2-4 from tkol aren't very good but if 5 out of 8 tracks on an album are awesome, I think that it makes it a pretty alright album. If the b-sides from that era like The Daily Mail, Supercollider, The Butcher, and Identikit made it onto TKOL I feel that it would've been much more well received.

hell yeah those songs are great. The only songs I don't like qre magpie, little by little, and feral. I can listen to magpie or little by little if it comes up on shuffle or something, but I'll barely ever put it on myself. Feral I skip 100% of the time.

Feral's one of my favorites on the album. It's the only time the band goes balls to the walls with the loops and polyrhythms they're experimenting with, otherwise it's largely them treading water with a slightly stronger krautrock flavor.
