Wouldn't go as far as calling him a retard. Think about the slew of shit rappers with a similar style that will never go anywhere. Waka Flocka is obviously smart enough to stand out. Which is also why he objectively has a larger fan base than you or I and why he objectively is more successful than ~95% of rappers (of all levels of fame) today.

I used to have the same opinion about a lot of rappers whose images and styles differed from my personal taste. It was only once I stopped assuming where these people were coming from (from my perception of their music) and started reading interviews did that bias change in me.

If you read about Waka Flocka you'll learn that he actually plays a big role in various community outreach programs geared towards keeping kids from shitty backgrounds in school. He has also raised money for PETA and United in Peace.

Nonetheless, I can understand how his music doesn't appeal to everyone, just as I can understand why a lot of people don't like indie rock.
