Good album.
Not only does it tell a good story (Good enough to be made into a Broadway musical) and is a good social commentary on the Bush II years, some of the songs are very sexy PMVs. (Just go to that hub of porn to watch them)

It's the album that got me into music, period. Kinda embarrassing to listen to some of the songs now, but it's a pretty solid album.
One of the few pop punk albums I like.

Really goes in the fucking tank after Holiday. 21st Century Breakdown was a far better album but it got kind of a cool reception because everyone had already played American Idiot to death. Boulevard of Broken Dreams was such an assy pop song for them, lacks personality like much of the album, and there's no wit to half the songs either, did Billie Joe learn nothing from Paul Weller?
