Seriously just picture what bjork meant for ricardo in his unfulfilling and lonely life.
He saw her as an artistic, delicate and beautiful goddess who would give meaning to his life from a distance yet here she was, being attracted to this ugly crass brute of a man who could never truly appreciate her purity and angelic quality like he did.
It must have been maddening for him the moment he learnt of their relationship, I'd imagine that it would have shattered the illusion that he had built up the moment he first saw her in an incredibly brutal way.
