but just to clarify, do you kids who were too young when hybrid theory and meteroa dropped genuinely think they were always joke albums? Hybrid theory was probably the biggest album in the world for years, everyone loved it and LP was on par with people like eminem during those two albums, critically and popularity wise.

Excellent! You deserved that, fuckwit.
I was old enough for it kind of (HT dropped when I was in fifth grade), and I didn't really care. My friends were into rap at the time (50 cent, Eminem, etc.) and Slipknot. Actually my friends uncle no joke worked with Slipknot for something and got my friend a ton of signed material. I wasn't into that stuff or music at all really until I went to college. I didn't think much of it at the time, but I was certainly aware of them.
Linkin Park were always a joke of a band that nobody with any taste listened to.

sorry, you're delusional
yes, they were popular, but only within a specific demographic of particularly angsty young teen males
everyone else considered them to be a joke, just as we still do today

I don't think so.
when i played high school football , I vividly remember people blasting hybrid theory in the locker room . so jocks liked it too
I was very very young when I first heard "In the End" on the radio but it was extremely popular here and I even live in a third world country

Anyone remember Fred Durst saying he broke up Limp Bizkit because he didn't want jocks listening to his music? Lyl.
