Underrated krautrock albums
is it too jazzy for the plebs on /mu/?

/mu/ doesn't really listen to a lot of krautrock, outside of the entry level stuff. Gotta say, though, Embryo is awesome.

Four Letter Monday Afternoon
Nosferatu is honestly the most underrated Krautrock album I've discovered. But there is quite a lot of obscure or forgotten about Krautrock.

Embryo is good, I need to relisten to a lot of their discography.

/mu/ never really go past CAN, Amon Duul and Faust in Krautrock. Found a lot of good stuff from Krautrock collectors in the vinyl community.
It's a pity that people don't check out stuff outside the main three big names. I guess the electronic effects draws in casuals/unfamiliar people more than the improvisations. Sucks since I think a lot of these improv heavy bands do that better than Can, Faust, or Neu! ever did.

This album is criminally underrated in the Krautrock community.

because that's the best? It's the same with jazz, the classics are the classics because it's the best

Well yes, they are the best. I don't disagree there, but like Jazz, it's incredibly more rewarding to dig into more obscure and forgotten releases.
Anybody got some essential krautrock records to listen to. Already listened to Faust, Neu, Can, Amon Duul, Popul Vuh, Klaus Schulze, early Kraftwerk, Harmonia, Tangerine Dream, Cluster, La Dusseldorf. Already checking out the recs itt

The RYM chart is your friend, for more obscurities and gems check prog-archives, for even more forgotten about bands you could maybe try AudiophileLaws on YouTube, I've found some good stuff from his Krautrock videos.
