Hey /mu/. I don't usually come here very often, so I'm not sure how often this group is discussed. I became interested in this groups music a couple of days ago and ordered their album Head over Heels yesterday. What would you consider to be their best material?
The consensus around here seems to be Heaven or Las Vegas is their best record, but I'm not sure if the people who parrot this have actually listened to all of their stuff
My favorite albums of theirs are Milk & Kisses, Treasure and Blue Bell Knoll, but honestly their whole discography is worth listening to.

Heaven or Las Vegas is the best starter album. Then Treasure, then Bluebell Knoll, then Victorialand, and then you can find experiment with the other releases .

They are discussed here weekly, the general consensus being Heaven or Las Vegas is their best album. I think it's Treasure but to each their own. Can't say I'm really a fan of them due to the nonsensical lyrics anyways.

>he care about lyrics
pleb idiot
The peaks of Heaven or Las Vegas show their best work imo, but Treasure is the best album all-around.

They were so ahead of their time that a new band named Beach House ripped off their act and is now selling records pretending to be them.
pick one at random, you cant lose :>

Thanks for the quick responses! I reckon my next two purchases will probably be Treasure and Heaven or Las Vegas.
Also; I hear many people say that everyone should avoid their first album, but this song at least sounds pretty cool.

No one mentions The Pink Opaque? One of my favorite of their albums.
Garlands is my favorite, and also (maybe because) the least characteristic of their style. Heaven or Las Vegas and Victorialand are also pretty solid records, I'm not a great fan of the rest of their discography though, way too soft

>listening to dream-pops mumble rap equivalent
I understand that you're either nostalgic for your first few Christmas experiences or you've never celebrated it because of fucked up family issues so you're (re)living the experience through the Cocteau Twins but it's time to face the facts. Dream pop is a cancer genre and Cocteau Twins is the ever adored tumor. Also Santa isn't real. Take down the xmas lights in your studio apartment and stop wearing oversized sweaters around the house.

Then listen to that one first. Not everyone's order has to be the same, listen to whatever you want, whenever.
I don't know why /mu/ likes Heaven or Las Vegas so much, their first 3 albums are the best in my opinion.
