Once I started playing music in my car that wasn't on the radio.
The radio is only a thing people listen to when in their car. Unless it's talk radio, nobody wants to listen to it when they're hanging out somewhere. Even pop fans and top 40 listeners don't listen to the radio anymore.
With that said, I do have some good to ok radio stations. Like 90.5, our jazz station, is actually really good. After every song they will tell you who every artist that played on that song is, and any other interesting info on the song. And 92.5 the River is decent, if only for the variety of music they play, and for the fact that they will sometimes play the less obvious songs of an artist that normally wouldn't get played (ie Wrong Em Boyo by the Clash) or just less popular songs in general (Pressure Drop by Toots and the Maytals). 100.7 is about as good as a classic rock channel can get, as it does the same thing the river does but with classic rock (whereas the River plays more alternative and indie music, along with pop music). And there's 99.5, our classical station. I used to work as a pizza delivery driver a while back and the radio was all I could really listen to.
