These bands like early R.E.M., Pixies, Sonic Youth or Violent Femmes are well known and were really popular in the 80's or 90's then why they like them? I thought that a hipster is someone who listens only to music that have like 1000 plays on youtube but somehow they still like bands that are really popular but are considered "good".

I can't handle hipsters. I know that these bands are very popular so it will be stupid to being mad at other people listening to them but you know normal people not some try-hard hipsters who think they're cool for liking Sonic Youth and probably they don't even like them, just are pretending.
