If Chester killed himself after this album dropped, would his death have been more impactful than Kurt Cobain's?
You don't even know what ''impact', if any, Chester's death has because it hasn't been one day yet. What a stupid ass hypothetical question.
it already is
do u think pitchfork will give the reissue a ten in a couple years like they did with appetite for destruction lol

definitely wouldn't have been more impactful that Kurt, but if he offed himself after meteora linkin park would probably be /mu/core

You're missing the point. We know Chester's death definitely wont be very significant to the way their music is perceived because Linkin Park has been a meme for the past decade and hasn't made a decent album since Metora. OP is asking what would happen if Chester died in 2004 and all we had to remember LP were their 3 first albums. I think he would probably be viewed as a misunderstood lost soul who wrote lyrics with a lot of emotional weight, but instead most of /mu/ sees him as a talentless cunt who abandoned his wife and kids.
faint is one of the best songs of all time
Not even remotely, no

It feels pretty fucking impactful. LP was a huge part of many people's middle school and high school lives all over the world.

no wtf how the fuck can you compare nirvana to lp
>>74056973
No one over thirty even knows who Chester is

Axl didn't kill himself though, he just got fat.

Kurt Cobain is overrated desu, they weren't even that impactful before his death. LP really did a ton, put out a shit ton of music, were in the first couple transformers, a generation grew up on them.

yeah LP early work is way better than anything Nirvana made

This.

I'd imagine so, they were a lot bigger back then, imagine all the teens killing themselves.
I think what made this so sad for me is when I realized the connection to Chris Cornell's death. I saw people 20 years older than me crying on the sidewalk as the news broke. LP really did touch a lot of people.
