it's by far the most creative song on the album. It has such a sinister sound to it that makes it incredibly unique musically interesting. It's brown, which the album over all doesn't have much of, but it's not goofy in any way shape or form. It sounds evil and somewhat frightening, and the contrast of the chorus with the instrumentals that follow is orgasmic.

people who say the White Pepper is their best album tend to enjoy more traditional styles of music. These are the type of people who would think Happy Colored Marbles is a bad song. They would gravitate towards the Argus because it's a straightforward song with a standard song structure, and it has a lot of classic rock influences. It's got nothing to do with right or wrong, it's just logical. White Pepper fans don't like their early works, and avoid any of the brown songs off their later albums.

The imagery in my mind is kind of hard to describe. That idyllic 90's American suburbia. Craftsman homes and perfect lawns and eternal summer. It's like the song is kind of adjacent to Malcolm in the Middle in my mind's memory banks or some shit.
