Bleed Through was the album Reznor was planning his come back post addiction, but it started to bog him down like The Fragile did, and I am betting that scared him so much he went to Rick Rubin who told him to come back with a more scaled back album. That became With_Teeth.

Less Than is With Teeth-levels of bad
The Lovers is a great instrumental ruined by a painful chorus
This Isn't The Place is nice enough musically, feels a little too much like a HTDA cut though,
also does anyone else get bored of NIN tracks just slowly fading in their layers of instrumentation into a tense cacophony,
like yeah it's amazing the first time you hear it in a song, but this is the at least the 30th time he's pulled that gimmick
Not Anymore is so forgettable, probably one of the worst songs lyrically in the NIN canon, worse than Copy Of A
The Background World isn't much better until that outro,
suddenly it gets interesting, albeit just a gradually degrading loop,
but hearing this rare surprise makes me wish he would make a full album of taking risks,
just say fuck it and go full noise for an hour, not just raw aesthetic like the previous EP,
I want that detailed harsh texture rubbing against my ear for more than just an outro
go into some drone or ambient, like that one track off of The Slip, or make another Ghosts compilation,

I like it more than the last EP, which was blandsville, but really only because of the surprise ending which caught me off guard

He dabbled in Crack Cocaine in the late eighties.

Quit it quickly, then started drinking, which got escalated by Uncle Al and his pressure, that culmulted to binge drinking. By TDS he was using psyadellics, which he used during the Woodstock show.

By 1995 he got into Coke and Bowie, who was on tour with him took immediate notice and tried to talk him out of it. He went to rehab in for the drugs, and kicked it. But then getting jammed up with The Fragile production and death of his grandmother (his mother, really) he got back into it harder then before.

He was shooting cocaine as an experiment and someone loaded his needle up with heroin, which killed him. But he got better.
