William Booney is Post-Hardcore? I always just called them Screamo
Anyway, can we discuss how fucking great this album is?
>>74029840
"Screamo" is just a vocal style, but William Bonney is more like a fusion of Emo and Post-Hardcore.
>post-anything
wew
pic related is underrated band
>>74029155
best band in the world, so glad i caught them live

>"Screamo" is just a vocal style
i think almost everyone here considers it a genre (at least i do- many screamo bands don't sound like your usual emo or post-hardcore)

Wildlife is fucking amazing imo.
Any thoughts on their followup?
It's not as intense as Wildlife but I like it.
>>74029155
not post hardcore

I didn't enjoy Rooms of the House as much as I enjoyed Wildlife INITIALLY. You're right. It's not as intense as Wildlife, and its not as in-your-face with its themes.
Then I listened to Rooms of the House more, and thought "yeah, I really like the direction La Dispute is taking with this album."
And then I listened more and began to appreciate the more laid back vocals that aren't as angry or loud, or how the instruments were almost kinda...jazzy. And then the whole story of RotH started to unfold. It's actually a loose concept album, just like Wildlife was.
Jordan Dreyer is a fucking musical genius. Just listen to these lyrics

These are pretty much my feelings exactly.
A band can't stay angry and explosive forever and Rooms of the House was a pretty good direction to take their sound in while still maintaining that emotional power. The concept of the record is really unique, as was the concept of Wildlife.
And you picked what are probably my two favourite tracks from the record.
>>74030319
Absolutely. Hell, I was even in love when they put out their pretentious as fuck single Thirteen. I can appreciate it just for atmosphere and lyricism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0TSPEjpdQs
Speaking of, what's your favorite Here, Hear song?
I fucking love Nine and Twelve.
Is post-hardcore like, Unwound and Slint?
thanks for this thread, I can't find this type of music in /metal/. Is Hail the Sun, and Sianvar the same vocalist?
>>74030545
Yep, that'd be Donovan Melero. He also does a little bit of solo work

It's kinda weird to actually see what La Dispute looks like. They project such a huge sound, and then when you see them, it's a bunch of skinny, pasty dorks. Like, look up other Post-Hardcore bands like Touche Amore or Defeater. They're tall and masculine and generally don't look like weirdos.
I know I'm gonna get shit on for making this comparison, but in a way they remind me of Slint. All the pictures of Slint back in the day, they don't look like they're going to produce something monumental.
One last bump before I go to bed. Listen to Plan B by A Lot Like Birds, it's one of the best albums in the genre.

Plan B
Conversation Piece
Which are all VERY close together, it really depends on my mood
And Divisi in last, every time.
