Borderline OCD/autistic music related things you guys do? Any weird habits that you wouldn't dare discuss in a normal music conversation. Let it out, no one here will judge.
I keep a digital list of every album/piece I've ever listened to, as well as a list for the works I've heard released from the current year sorted by date listened and again by best to worst.
Of course I also have an external hard drive that all my music is stored on where all the tags and such are scrutinized. It's well over a terabyte now, and I have hopes that I can pass it on to my kid some day, or move the files once external storage becomes cheaper or more efficient. It's definitely my proudest possession.
In the car I can only have the volume on an even number.

I would, but I can't bring myself to give hard ratings to art. Just doesn't feel right.

seems to be a habit with quite a few people.
Why do we do this?

When will this normie misconception die?

I almost exclusively listen to ~5 second parts on loop that I think are musically perfect, for hours.
other than picking out things I want to steal and morph into my own better music.

I've listened to the same playlist so many times at work that I actually know the order of all 138 songs without having to look.

William Basinski?
Seriously though looped "minimalist ambient tape music" can sound good at times. I would listen to an LP length compilation of several 5 second loops that have been curated.

I can't give ratings to anything, not art or women.
Feels demeaning, especially since numbers imply objectiveness in my eyes.
I have no idea how people can clearly state "I love both these albums but this one is better", doesn't make any sense to me.
Kind of ruins discussion for me too, I love AnCo but a lot of the threads just rank.
My "ranking" would be that I love all their albums except Danse Manatee.
If I don't listen to an artist's discography in order I feel like I'm missing out or not getting the proper experience
