I think you'd love this btw. no one ever mentions it when they talk about ambient. it's a guy's attempt to write the soundtrack to a dying star. taking a lot of inspiration from it for new stuff, I'll listen sometimes and just play guitar along with it and see what comes about

What is this TP you speak of? Terry Pratchett? Toilet Paper?

I suppose my opinions on some new "series" of toilet paper would be overwhelmingly positive. I might take some issue with a plot point brought up in episode 8 that re-contextualizes the character that acts as the impetus for the whole series. Something about giving her a kind of messianic significance seems kind of cheap and unnecessary, but it might resolve itself in a satisfying way by the end of the season. But yeah by and large really love Toilet Paper's return.

Sounds neat. I'll give it a listen.
Fun fact: Whenever "iron" appears in my lyrics it refers to the death of a star since it is the very last fusion product before a supernova occurs.

>>74028842
The eight leaf of the new toilet paper definitely wiped away some of the fans. As a fan of Stan Brakhage I really enjoyed it, though.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAoTHILzheo

Here is to another star.
No Stars are fine, too. There will come a time when they will all be gone.
>>
>>74028842
terry pratchett is pretty damn grand too. I get what you're saying about ep 8 - I'm hoping it's not a messianic thing, but if it is, the hints were there from the start and especially in FWWM, really felt like that. there was even an angel that appeared.

>>74028996
i'm stealing that iron reference to use

Stan Brakhage rules, and yeah, I thought it resembled that a lot as well. my jaw was hanging for a while. so much beautiful imagery. as toilet paper goes at least

>>74027893
this is pretty good man, it has a lot of potential, i just listened to some of the first few tracks but i like the dynamics and how they progress i wish i was that good at song writing lol
(also nice modest mouse cover)
>>74027900
i listened to some of affluency and i think its a great song and really well structured but i think its pretty poorly recorded which is okay in some ways because i totally understand the whole lo fi thing but i think maybe either the drums are overbearing or you need to equalize it a better because i feel like i can hardly hear the melodies of the guitar and/or singing at all :/ the ending of the song though was a nice juxtaposition
i also listened to some of the second song and it is also quite good but has some of the same audio problem where theres too much treble and not enough bass.

>>74027919
this is really cool man i think ill listen to some more later because ive started to get into noise a lot. i listened to dunkle tage and i like that sound which begins and ends the track but i feel like that bass rumbling in the middle should be shortened or you should move the track to a different place. its not bad but i got a bad first impression because i at first assumed it was pretty typical noise/power electronics stuff until i checked around the other tracks

>>74027952
thats awesome dude i really hope your channel blows up because thats a great idea and it would help plenty of real obscure artists get exposure (which im guessing is part of the point). i wish i had thought of that haha, keep up the good work sir
>>
>>74028996
Yeah don't get me wrong I thought that eighth roll of toilet paper on the whole was incredible, just think that one plot point has some weird implications for Laura's character. I'm fairly certain they'll return to that and justify it a bit more later on though.

I simply could not move the track "Dunkle Tage" since it was the seed the whole album grew from. It is the mood setter track that tells you you're not really in for a relaxed drive. This an unpleasant journey.

Okay just listened to the EP a couple times through and it did not disappoint. I have less to say than I thought I would have, but that's not due to any issues on your part. I think you just more less got the sound you were trying to go for down to a T, which is certainly an accomplishment. Is it weird that Four Interlude is my favorite track? It's just so deliciously nasty and succinct. Really can't get over how well produced and recorded it all sounds, (other than the drums, but I know you've heard that a lot). I wish you'd include some lyrics since the vocals are so obscured, but I get how some people are wary to highlight the words like that. But yeah, great job m8, looking forward to the full album.

>>74029424
I'll be honest, I'm not sure the yelling stuff worked too well. I do love me some screamy vocals from time to time, but unless you're going for a full noisey kind of thing there still needs to be some sort of melody sung underneath it. I mean I'm not too big into Nirvana but I do believe Kurt was good about doing that, which I didn't get from you. The more understated stuff was alright though, I liked the acoustic lead that came in at the end.

>>74030297
Oh hey I remember really liking Buried in the Bed. New song is dope, especially when it kicks in at the end there but by god that album art almost gave me cancer before I realized who it belonged to. Like why do that to yourself dude.

Impression 1 was a cool track, I was digging the loop a lot. I didn't enjoy a lot of the chopped and screwed stuff, it seems a little lazy to me. Just a personal opinion though. I listened to a couple Literary Hotel tracks, didn't love the guitar tone and some of it seemed unfinished. That said I think you have a cool and unique thing going and i hope you keep doing it.

To be honest these tracks are here from the far 2009. The time when I lived in a small town and tried to find my actual sound. The most influental records for me were made by Throbbing Gristle, Coil, Einsturzende Neubaunten on the one hand and by Aphex Twin, Autechre, Venetian Snares on the other. Of course I realised that couldn't make anything similiar to the favourite artists. So, I started to experiment with my music. That's how MushroomWavved Collar appeared ;)
The album has 6 bonus tracks (so called secret part) and I recommend to download the whole item to give it a try.
In a few words, these tracks are too different to the main part. It sounds more like instrumental hip-hop with a crushing ending in the final two dissociative house tracks.
