The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success. The Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worthy of being saved.

It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks. But 'The Greatest Love of All' is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation and dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves.

Since it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message. Crucial, really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.

Music isn't about money. Music should not be ranked by profit. Music is entertainment. It is there for the listeners benefit not the musicians profit. If people are stupid enough too spend money on music they can but the only time you should have too spend money on music is seeing it live. That pays the venue, the workers, the clean up crews after and all the companies selling wears murch and promoting their own music out side. As it is as it should be and then record companies can kill themselves. Fuckin assholes use musicians so they can sit around feeling big
