I see what you did there
kanye west
>>74012778
still hasn't really influenced anyone but himself
unless you count parody
>>74012816
Kanye West single handedly altered the course of mainstream hip-hop. Gangsta Rap was absolutely dominating up until Graduation.
What did Daft Punk exactly do besides make house music? They have a cult classic album with Discovery but nothing more. Homework was a decent house record while Human after all was absolutely horrible and RAM was self-indulgent wankery.
>>74012860
the internet destroyed gangster rap, not kanye
also, yes, daft punk is overrated - but they are 'historical' and did indeed influence music (they're not by any stretch a 'most' though)
>>74012860
Human after all was absolute kino
>>74013200
Human after all was absolute krap
>ftfy
I honestly think Animal Collective's mid-2000s albums redefined the sound of "indie music" for the next 15 years
Lil Wayne popularized the Internet mixtape as a format
You could also make a solid case for El-P - establishing the sound of "underground rap" with Funcrusher Plus, founding what arguably remains one of the most well-known underground hip hop labels (Def Jux) then bringing political hip hop into the 21st century with RTJ
>>74012860
RAM is incredible
>>74012583
Wildflower
>>74012658
Royal Trux
daft punk is worse than meme rap. if you like them get of my board, ree, normie, etc.
>>74012690
kraftwerk
>>74012441
From what I've seen the tracks that have been produced by Daft Punk have actually been really good.
