ITT: The contrarian's choice
What's contrarian about that? That's one of their most popular albums.

It's just The Modern Dance but not as forward thinking or interesting
Though I guess the most contrarian choice would be Raygun Suitcase or one of Thomas' avant-prog things

Do you think Montana Missile Silo will be good?

It'll at least be worth a listen because Thomas is always trying different ideas. This time around he'll have three guitarists one being Kristof Hahn from swans.
I am fascinated by how regardless of quality, some of the freshest stuff in rock recently has been from almost 40 year old bands with post-punk groundings (swans, pop group, pere ubu.) In a way it's reminiscent of classical music where an older composer means a more experienced composer that may wanna try different things. Even jazz has this happening too to this extent where Henry Threadgill is 73 and making the most innovative stuff in that field this decade.

I never understood why this album doesn't get much love. B side if nothing but classics. It has Subterranean Homesick Blues, Mr. Tambourine Man, Gates of Eden and It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) for crying out loud.
