Japanese =/= automatically good

I'll never understand why there's such a hard-on for some people with Japanese music. Music full of gimmicks/novelty stuff instead of actual substance is never really that great, it's shallow now matter how weird or different or interesting it sounds at first. Japanese music is the king of mostly gimmick/novelty with little substance.

Ignoring Japanese music is just as bad as blindly praising it. Japan has the second largest music market in the world. It shouldn't be surprising that there's at least some interesting material coming out of it. It's certainly not all gimmicks.
