I decided to listen all Beach Boys albuns before listening to Smile

I am currently listening to the Country album

What is this retardation? Why not just listen to everything leading up to SMiLE? Everything after is irrelevant to your appreciation of the album.

I like SLN's 2004 BWPS mix.

Most people recommend either this, SLN's 1967 mix, or the sessions. I like this version because it's clean, it follows the format of the SMiLE Brian Wilson eventually made, it has the version of "Heroes and Villains" from the Smile Sessions that has Brian Wilson higher in the mix, it has the full Surf's Up suite, and finally: it's longer than the 1967 mix. It's simply more material.

For me it's a comprehensible arrangement of the (let's be honest) mess of the Smile Sessions. And unlike the 1967 mix, it doesn't cut out a fourth of the material. It even retains the cool transitions (like the trombone moment) from Brian Wilson Presents Smile.
