I think it's controversial but it makes things a lot easier

Music / style* (eg. Classical for unamplified, Soundtracks for soundtracks, Musical Theater for same, Contemporary for amplified modern music) / Artist / year - releaseTitle.flac/zip

Where flacs are multi-track files with embedded album art and cue sheets for truly gapless playback, and zips are compressed file formats as separate tracks with album art also in the archive. And the whole thing is fed to an instance of foobar2000 running on a home server for automated in/out-of-house lossless or lossy streaming. Imo it's the only way to go desu.

* Genres in the traditional sense just don't work for me desu.

Folder: Artist Name
Inside folder: [YEAR] Album Name
Inside folder: Track by track in format like "01 Bleep Bloop"
