Because G&L is way pricier for the same thing. Strats and Teles, followed by countless other timeless fender models, are some of easiest and cheapest guitars you can find for relatively cheap and still sound better than any other guitar. You could blow 1k on a G&L tele or go into your local pawn shop and buy a used MIM tele for 300 bucks and they will sound equally as good

because they are built in California and finished the old fashioned way, which takes a long time. because environmental laws they can't crank out too many anyways. they are also basically hand crafted, not assembly line put together by niggers and mexicans like strats.

even a rick at 3k is cheap compared to REAL instruments like violons or trombones or whatever. it's funny that a top of the line electric guitar is so fucking cheap and guitarists will shit on it like only a blues lawyer can afford. truth is, guitars are pleb instruments for peasants, like banjos and drums. that's why they are featured in popular music (music of the people) like country, bluegrass etc.

ricks have finished fretboards and luthiers will tell you they are really hard to refret and shit. they look really nice though. i played a vintage 12 string that was beat to shit and it had a very very narrow neck, wasn't very impressed but the action was extremely low and it def didn't feel like a toy.

i wish they would come out with a compromised asian knockoff brand like squier or epiphone because I want one
