I fell for the meme and it's pretty good.

Do you have any chart where I can actually see what's written in it?
I love McCoy Tyner with Coltrane. What are the other best albums he plays on?

Fuuuuck off or lurk more.

Footloose is fucking incredible but idk why no one listens to paul bley with gary peacock, probably a better album with a really similar sound.

Download the images from imgur and they're perfectly readable.

It is pretty good. It's not the pinnacle of modern jazz or anything but for that post-bop style it's some of the best I've heard.

how can i learn jazz guitar without knowing music theory?
>>73934552
Is this album good to sample from?
>>73936341
maybe you should reconsider that
>>73936341
Well you can waste many many hours to actually learn theory, but learn it all by ear and trial and error, but not ever write anything out. Then I suppose you can still technically claim that you "don't know theory." But this would probably take you at least 4 times as long as just studying from a text.
Or you could just say fuck it and only play free jazz and most likely be terrible and the kind of free jazz player that the good players make fun of.
What's some essential stuff from Roscoe Mitchell?

can't go wrong with the Art Ensemble of Chicago

Its possible but will take you Muuuuuuuuch much longer. Trust me, just learn theory. I've been playing piano for around 2 years originally to learn jazz, but there was so much theory that i basically gave up and learnt to read sheet music so I could play contemporary songs. This year something about jazz theory clicked from me and its been all uphill from there. And trust me, it seems like a lot to learn, but I can now finally play towards a direction I want to, while also understanding the music intellectually at a deeper level.
