Don't know about the 'we' part, but I'd say yes. Not that Melodrama is bad, per se - especially in the context of what it is (a straightforward, mainstream, top-40 pop record.) Just that if you genuinely believe Melodrama is a 10/10, then Pure Heroine is a 11.5-12/10.

I would say otherwise. Lorde manages to not only expand to something bigger in Melodrama but also restrict to something more minimalistic than ever before. She really tests her vocal capabilities, and her lyricism is actually a lot more mature, which is surprising considering how high that bar was set on Pure Heroine.

Yeah, Melodrama is fucking amazing, so much better than Pure Heroine.
