ive listerally never seen a good music documentary. some that had interesting information but none i would call good as films in the way herzog documentaries are great in terms of methodologies of conveying information, cinematography, editing, and scoring.

Really good if you're interested in punk, focuses a little too much on british punk imo but thats probably just my preference of american punk
The Devil and Daniel Johnston is a fantastic documentary
Also, the Foo Fighters documentary series from a couple years ago is pretty decent, but you do have to sit through some FF bullshit.
