Prove me wrong. You literally cant
>>73877675
>tfw I have to dislike the rest of an artist albums becouse they are too famous for me so i pick the least popular one
Nothing to prove here, move on
That's not Electric Ladyland
>>73878076
Its unironically his best though
but
Electric Ladyland
>>73877675
Spanish Castle Magic, If 6 Was 9, Little Wing, Castles Made of Sand, and Bold as Love are great songs. The rest of them range from pleasing but kind of half-assed to downright crappy.
Oftentimes I'd rather hear it than Are You Experienced because AYE is a little samey, but Bold as Love has nothing on Electric Ladyland at the end of the day.
>>73877675
>ahem
>>73878725
Then explain why it's his best.
>>73878944
And what are the half assed and down right crappy songs?
>>73879098
its his most consistent least filler album.
It doesn't have super drawn out songs that are much longer than they need to be
the wah on up from the skies is so good

>Jimi Hendrix was one of the greatest icons of the 1960s. His death in 1970 still stands as one of the crucial events in the history of rock music. His work may be less important, as too many of his albums were below average. Hendrix was, after all, one of the most exploited artists of all times (many more albums were released after his death than during his lifetime). Hendrix made only two amazing albums: the first and the third, Are You Experienced (1967) and Electric Ladyland (1968). His greatest achievement was to coin a new guitar style, a style that amounted to a declaration of war against western harmony. Born at the crossroad between Chicago's blues, Memphis soul and Charlie Christian's jazz improvisation, Hendrix's style was an excruciating torture of tonal music. A black man, Hendrix always used the blues as the basis for his improvisation, but then used the whole human body to play and distort the sound of the guitar. The guitar became a sacrificial total for an entire generation. A cosmic hymn such as Third Stone From The Sun was fueled towards higher dimensions by the heroic guitar workout. The blues agony of jams such as Voodoo Chile was pushed to new psychological levels by the endless guitar pyrotechnics. Tracks such as 1983 borrowed from free-jazz and avantgarde music to achieve a form of "sound painting". On the album Band Of Gypsys (1970) Hendrix was indulging in endless acrobatics. Hendrix's guitar opened new doors to experimental music. His lesson would be applied not only to guitar but also to keyboards and to whatever instrument would lead a rock song.
Hendrix's case as a guitarist is unique in the history of modern music: Hendrix leads the "polls" of critics worldwide, even among jazz critics. Such a unanimity does not exist for singers or drummers or keyboardists.
His legacy as a guitarist is comparable to Beethoven's legacy as a symphonist.

Good not great:
Up from the Skies
Wait Until Tomorrow
Ain't No Telling
One Rainy Wish
Crappy:
You Got Me Floatin'
She's So Fine
Little Miss Lover
and honestly you can tell it just from the titles really
>>73879236
Neither does Electric Ladyland.
She's So Fine is a pleb filter
>>73880101
legit kek
>>73880240
whats so funny
It's underrated as fuck for being the last album he himself released. Machine Gun is probably one of his best songs that nobody knows.
>>73879328
>wait until tomorrow
fuck you man that guitar work is great
>>73880754
Well, yeah. He plays guitar good on every one of the songs. The other parts just don't always come together.
>>73880862
but the drums on that song are amazing too
only bad part is the backing vocals
"Rock is black music" is so incredibly overblown. The influence of blues in rock was momentary and by the time you get interesting rock like Yes, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin post-LZII, etc., that influence is almost completely gone, and in any case is completely dwarfed by the influence of English folk, classical, art-music, and insular genre-internal influences. And blues itself was the result of American blacks imitating the European folk tunes of the continent. But no one says "blues is just stolen white music". The whole thing is retarded white guilt bullshit.
>>73877675
I agree it's his most consistent album and it's the one I listen to the most, but Electric Ladyland has Voodoo Chile on it.
>>73880736
a lot of people know machine gun though
>>73877675
I legitimately can't literally prove you wrong because literally that album is literally the best fucking literal album of all literal time. Literally it's so good that I literally fuck my literal waifu while literally listening to it. Literally.
>>73877675
>this album was released the same year as Sgt Pepper
Why were The Beatles so behind the times? How were they even relevant?
>>73877675
Why is this album cover not cultural appropriation? but a white person with dreads is?
