just enjoy it. jazz music is fun to listen to and it's really rewarding for the people who play it. the musicians improvise on the fly and compete with their fellow musicians. things tend to evolve over the course of years so find your sweet spot

If it manages to get your attention in the pile of shitty jazz albums, it's good jazz.
