Why is it cool to hate on The Wall nowadays?

Is it?

Stop living under a rock.
Pink Floyd sucks.
Because if you don't buy into the album it becomes incredibly pretentious rather than meaningful as Waters intended. It always happens when something is hyped to be a "deep" album and you go into it with a negative disposition. Pink Floyd are just an easy target because of their autistic fanbase and The Wall is an iconic album.

Seriously when has it become cool to hate it? I've never heard any legitimate hate for it.
I dont hate it but there are too many songs on it, still a good album but pink floyd have 4 better albums
>>73863216
too many shit songs*
>>73863067
people came to realise two things:
1. the Wall is popular (so naturally /mu/ must hate it)
2. Roger Waters is a crook (so despite the Wall being a good album, all his work must be discredited. /mu/ logic)

It's just overrated. The pretentiousness is also too much.
It has always been cool to ditch the Wall and Dark Side of the Moon because they're the bands most popular release. Any kid getting into Pink Floyd will come for the radio tunes on previous mentioned albums and end up claiming they're mainstream shit inferior to Meddle and Ummagumma.
The Wall in itself really is angsty teenager core, it's become a source of comedy for me and my friends to spot the Wall quotes on neckbeard manchild social media profiles. There's even a furry comic adaption.

It's not "Cool".
The album sucks and so does every Pink Floyd album after Obscured By Clouds.
Because it makes people feel superior to others when they have tastes outside the norm and dislike what is generally considered the best, or rather pretend to do so
>>73863067
Because of Trump
>>73863067
Because it's too long, has too much filler, has an overarching theme that is alienating to a lot of /mu/ and because it's Roger's most personal work and /mu/ hate Roger so by extension hate this.
>>73863699
Is it really fair to judge the quality of an artist's work based on their personality?
>>73863726
No, but that doesn't stop people
>>73863699
>Filler
What filler? the only track i can see as a filler is "
Bring the Boys Back Home". any other track in The Wall is absolutely great
Because there are a bunch of kiddies on this board who don't take their Ritalin.
>>73863699
>has an overarching theme that is alienating to a lot of /mu/
>social alienation is alien to /mu/
What are you getting at, m8? The individual components about being a war child or a rock star? Because it's not vital to be Roger Waters to connect with the album.
