that's a common trick for slower tempos. instead of bumping the metronome up try keeping it at the slower tempo and count the upbeat in your head, and/or just tap your foot along with it. sooner or later you won't need to count and you'll just feel it.

it gets weirder and weirder the slower you try to play though, but the truth is you are almost never going to play songs that are like 40bpm. i don't think anyone can actually feel a beat out that slow without doubling it up in their head, it's just too unnatural.

I'm sick of practicing on the basic Mustaine flying V guitar my friend gave me that digs into my leg constantly (not bad guitar, but just uncomfortable, and designed mainly for shredding), and a shitty Falcon Acoustic I bought from a music shop near my uni for £40 on the cheap. (It sounds ok, but its so damn hard to play on. Strings are so damn stiff, and its bulky)

I'm doing it. I'm fucking doing it. I'm taking the gamble here on getting something that I can practice on that looks cool, is somewhat modern, and that joe average seems to like. I just hope I don't regret it.

How good are Hondo and Hondo II acoustic guitars? There's a Korean made one for sale near me for cheap. It needs some TLC but nothing crazy. I know Hondo made some electrics that are well regarded, but I can't find much about their acoustics.

The usual, some Dowland and lately I've been practicing a toccata by Granata. I'm enjoying his work right now and that of Murcia. Trying to round out my repertoire with just a few more songs so I can get to a stopping point and work on performing but I can't decide what to work on next. I tried to listen to some songs I used to play to get into them again but just wasn't feeling it. Just stopped playing those songs abruptly one day. is there an effect for bass that simulates different picking places, for example youre picking over the neck pickup and with the effect it sounds like picking close to the bridge
