Bonus question: even if it's not the best, is it better than ITCOTCK?
Yes to both
If The Mollusk is considered Prog, then no

no to both
>>73850086
who on earth would consider The Mollusk prog
>>73850113
Album taps into multiple genres albeit via individual tracks themselves rather than melding genres into singular tracks. I'd say it's fair to call it a prog album. Polka Dot Tail, and the title track particularly read as proggy to me.

>considering the mollusk a better album than selling england by the pound

Lark's Tongue in Aspic my man.
>>73850321
in agreement
>>73850300
In terms of song writing vs musicianship it's certainly a better album
>>73849894
only true if you don't consider cantebury to be prog
>>73850321
10/10
Only issue with it is that close to the edge is so good none of the other songs matter
>>73849894
Yes. it's my favorite prog album
I'd give somebody a swirlie if they told me they thought Genesis was one of the best prog bands in the real life

Siberian Khatru is nearly as good.
Non
It may be better than ITCOTCK but best prog album is already taken by Larks'
>>73850300
not him and The Mollusk isn't prog but it beats the shit out of Selling England By The Pound
It's the best prog album but not better than ITCOTCK
