Honestly, Jay-Z is almost always corny as hell.
People will hate, but MCHG was way underrated and quite stellar. Definitely his best album IMO

One of his best projects honestly. Infinitely better than MCHG, and probably his best since The Black Album. I've heard most people say his best since American Gangster, but I'd have to go back and re listen to that.
