why do bands still bother with having human drummers?
tradition
Because human drummers make for better live shows. Next question, pleb?

Fun to play the drums
>>73815785
Drum machines still haven't mastered the subtle nuances of a live drum sound
>>73815805
how is it better?
Either the drummer is a vital part of the band that can play his instrument or because muh authenticity. The difference between an average drummer and well programmed samples is marginal in most music.
>>73815785
Because drum samples sound like dog shit even in the hands of the most talented producers/arrangers and lack any of the sonic impact of live drums.
You can always tell a drum machine from a live drummer. Always.
Drum machines are fine for electronic music, but are conspicuous as fuck in any live band.
Also. Drum machines cannot improvise.
>>73815785
Because presets are garbage
>>73815819
it's not, acoustic drums are obsolete - every other instrument has evolved except the drums, it's about time now
>>73815799
tradition is just an excuse for not evolving
>>73815879
This
Thinking a drum machine can replace live drums is indescribably autistic.
>>73815875
>t. bitter drummer
>>73815879
>Also. Drum machines cannot improvise.
>he hasn't heard of autechre
>>73816618
algorithmic/generative drum loops =/= improvisation. but you are right in saying that electronic drums can be improvised, see pic
>>73816798
i don't think there are any loops in autechre's live stuff
>>73815879
>improvise.
take your pretentious jazz shit and shove it
just play the fucking beat
>>73815819
whats more fun to watch? a drum machine, or a drummer?
>>73817021
music is for listening, could give less of a shit what the band looks like
>>73817021
whichever one sounds better
and if you believe a drum machine can't sound as good as live drums you are just ignorant
