Why isnt this a thing already?
New too jam bands? Just as /lit/ will tell you to "start with the Greeks," with jam bands you want to start with the Dead. And remember, disregard studio shit, always listen to live performances. Also phish is shit.
The three best current jam bands out there imo are Umphreys Mcgee, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and Big Something.

You have absolutely shitty taste in jam bands besides the Dead and Phish lol.
Best ones out there performing right now are Phish, Dead and Company, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Govt Mule and Moe.

Im biased towards Pigeons and Big Something seeing how Pigeons was the first Jam Band I ever saw live and the first time I ever tripped acid and Im friend with some of the members of Big Something
They have a lot of great shit you should check it out
And I agree with Chris Robinson Brotherhood
QUICK POST RARE BOBS

Godspeed You! Black Emperor is actually a good jam band, they have shitloads of bootlegs with jams n shiet
So /jbg/, do you put any merit into the Deads studio albums?
IMO the only good ones are American Beauty and Workingmans dead
Only two studio albums that can hold a candle to their live stuff

I'm definitely going to have to check them out
