Why isnt this a thing already?
New too jam bands? Just as /lit/ will tell you to "start with the Greeks," with jam bands you want to start with the Dead. And remember, disregard studio shit, always listen to live performances. Also phish is shit.
The three best current jam bands out there imo are Umphreys Mcgee, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and Big Something.

Im biased towards Pigeons and Big Something seeing how Pigeons was the first Jam Band I ever saw live and the first time I ever tripped acid and Im friend with some of the members of Big Something
