Hey so i got a friend who claims rock favorite genre and metal least favorite. I made it my goal to compile a list of songs to make him convert to a metal fan. Although im aware there is a good chance of failure here i still think hes missing out on a very broad genre that he could probably find something appealing in.
So im here hopjng for suggestions.
He said he listened to black sabbath and didn't like it.
I feel like he probably also does not prefer shit thats too hyper and crazy like soad
Anyways, heres what im thinkin of so far:

>Gojira - whales on mars
>Ensiferum- lady in black, lai lai, hero in a dream
>Baby metal- gimme chocolate
>Mastodon- oblivion
>Tenacious d- ???
im not expecting anybody to fully agree with my list so far, but i wouldn't mind seeing some opinions
I'm sure there are some great 'gateway metal' songs im missing as well as some that destroy preconceived opinions on the whole genre.

I started liking some metal by going from shoegaze to blackmetal + shoegaze / sludge + shoegaze to black metal and sludge proper

Just to reiterate, he told me he listened to black sabbath and doesn't like em... now idk if it's worth making him listen to more but i figure i could always ask what songs specifically he heard...

i am a metal fan, and desu i see where you're coming from lol but i won't lie, i liked all of those at some point... and i still like intervals and gojira.
Not trying to be challenge guy or anything but is there any particular reason you didn't recommend anything specific? I mean name some names n such.
