Pretty fair. Their music does tend to layer differently than Nirvana and Soundgarden more so with the little touches of nonchord tones present in specific moments. Soundgarden definitely has their sound rooted in eclectic harmonies, but Pearl Jam does stand up very well in the aspect you mentioned, which is usually even more important than base harmonies used.
